Part of the international collaborative network
The Finnish Association for Mental Health (FAMH) is a member of many key international organizations specializing in mental health, suicide prevention,crisis helpline, family therapy, rehabilitation, social policy, poverty and exclusion prevention, traumatic stress research and conflict resolution, as well as the care of the elderly.

The President of Finland, Ms. Tarja Halonen is a member of the International Committee of Woman Leaders for Mental Health. The Committee's objective is to increase the attention paid to mental health.
On the international suicide prevention day, the 10th September, the FAHM provides education to people involved in mental health work connected to the theme and brings forth the importance of preventive work with the help of the media.
The FAMH has promoted the World Mental Health Day, the 10th October, in Finland by inviting other organisations and private individuals to join in the events of the day and by granting an annual mental health award.
